Given the trepidation and anxiety with which most of us do any type of exercise we must admire our ASUA President Curtis Winder who took his whole family hiking into the Grand Canyon. Some of them hiked 40 miles or more, and at the very least some hiked 20 miles down and up those steep canyon walls experiencing extremely rugged terrain. An adventure hike into the Grand Canyon is a journey through time into one of the earth's most mysterious and spectacular of landscapes. It's a place like no other on earth.
The Winder family spent time near the Havasupai Native Americans that live in the bottom of the canyon. Though a handful of Native American tribes have ancestral ties to the Grand Canyon, only the Havasupai maintain a permanent presence below the rim to this day. The Winder clan camped and swam and hiked and had a great time. In fact, a very large Mountain Sheep ran through their camp giving a thrill to all.

Curtis said he was just glad he could still out hike his sons.
